How do I open a dashboard someone shared with me?

1. Open Dashboard. 2. Open the dashboard menu at the top of the page. 3. Choose the dashboard that was shared with you. A shared dashboard can be write-protected. The page then shows a read-only banner, so you can view it without changing it.

What do the tiles show?

A tile is one live view of the solution you have open. On indoor climate a tile can be a current reading against its limit, a temperature and relative humidity chart, a ranking such as the highest humidity, a 24-hour average with the range, outdoor temperature and humidity, mould risk, or presence across the week. Each tile shows when the reading arrived.

How do I create a dashboard?

1. Open Dashboard. 2. Open the dashboard menu next to the title and choose Create New Dashboard. The menu lists your own dashboards first, then the ones shared with you. 3. A new dashboard starts empty. Click Add your first widget to pick a widget type, choose the sensors or a location, and place it on the grid. Drag to move or resize. Changes save as you go.

How do I add a widget to a dashboard?

1. Open the dashboard and click Add your first widget, or the add button on a dashboard that already has tiles. 2. Under Select data source, choose Single Sensor or Location (Group), then pick the sensor or the location from the list. Sensors are grouped by location, and you can search. 3. Choose the parameter, such as temperature, humidity, or CO₂, or All values. 4. Choose the widget type: Average for a single figure, Graph for a chart, or Latest for the current reading. A graph can take a second parameter on its own axis and a period from the last 24 hours to the last month. 5. Click Add Widget.

How do I share a dashboard, and how do I put it on a wall screen?

1. Open the dashboard menu next to the title. On your own dashboard, use the share action to share it with everyone in your organisation. The dashboard gets a Shared badge, and colleagues find it under Shared with me. Use the same action again to stop sharing. 2. For a wall screen, click TV Mode at the top right. Choose a password of at least six characters and click Create TV link. The link opens the dashboard without a login, protected by that password, so share it only with people who should see it. The password can be changed later.

Where do I see whether readings are inside the limits?

Open Deviations > Status. Choose the location and a period from the last 24 hours up to six months, or set your own dates. The page splits each parameter into too low, inside the target, and too high, as a share of that period. On indoor climate the parameters are temperature, CO₂, relative humidity, eTVOC, sound level, and light level.

How do I find which sensors were outside the limits?

Open Deviations > Which Sensors. 1. Filter by location, and by temperature, relative humidity, CO₂, or eTVOC. 2. Choose a period from yesterday up to a year. 3. Open a location to see its sensors. The list ranks locations by the longest continuous time outside the target band, and by the largest gap from that band.

Where do I find threshold notifications?

Open Deviations > Notifications. Each row is one sensor. A notification watches a limit, such as temperature or relative humidity above or below a value, and goes to an email address or a phone number. You can turn a notification off from that list.

How do I create a notification for a sensor?

1. Open Deviations > Notifications and click Create Notification. 2. Choose the sensor and the parameter. 3. Set the rule: Higher than or Lower than a limit. The field is prefilled from the sensor's scenario. Set the sensitivity, the number of readings in a row that must be outside the limit before the alert is sent. To be told at the other limit as well, create a second notification. 4. Choose the language of the message. 5. Add recipients by email or SMS. Insert myself adds your own address. 6. Click Save Notification.

How do I test, pause, edit, or delete a notification?

1. Open Deviations > Notifications. 2. Each row is one rule for one sensor. The badge next to the limit is the sensitivity, the readings in a row required before the alert. The controls at the end of the row do the rest: Test: Send a message to the recipients now. Copy: Use this rule as a template for a new one. Edit: Change the limit, sensitivity, or recipients. Delete: Remove the rule. Switch: Pause the notification without deleting it; switch it back on later.

How do I get silent and low-battery sensors by email?

1. Click the bell in the top bar. It opens the Problems Overview for your organisation. 2. The overview lists silent sensors, with the number of hours without contact that counts as silent, and sensors with low battery. 3. Under Email alerts, choose Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Never, add the recipients, and click Save Settings. The email is only sent when there is a problem to report. Send test email shows what it looks like.

How do I set the thresholds for a location or a sensor?

Open Administration at the bottom of the side menu, then Indoor climate > Thresholds. The Scenarios tab holds ready-made threshold sets, grouped by what the room is used for, such as Office & Workplace or Preservation & Heritage. Filter by standard, such as EPBD / EN 16798, EN 15757, or HACCP, or search for a room type. Overview shows which scenario each sensor follows right now. 1. Open a group and click a scenario to see its green, amber, and red zones for every parameter, summer and winter. 2. Click Apply and choose the locations or sensors it should cover. A sensor can also get its own scenario under Administration > Sensors, which overrides the one set on its location.

Where do I find indoor climate reports?

Open Reports > Indoor Climate Report. Subscriptions send a report for one sensor on a schedule. The list shows the report style, the language, and the email addresses that receive it. Historical is for a week or a month that has already passed.

How do I order a report for a past period?

Open Reports > Indoor Climate Report > Historical. 1. Choose the sensor, then a week or a month that has data. 2. Set the format to normal or simple, and pick Danish, German, or English. 3. Add the recipients. The report is emailed when it is ready, usually within 10 minutes.

How do I get a PDF for one location?

Open Reports > Location Report. 1. Choose the location. 2. Choose download now, send now, download and send, or a schedule. 3. Set the period to a preset from one week to one year, or a date range, and choose a full report or a short report. 4. Pick Danish, English, German, or Swedish. Scheduled reports are listed with the next send time.

How do I edit or stop a report subscription?

1. Open Reports > Indoor Climate Report. The Subscriptions tab is open by default. 2. Each card is one subscription: the sensor, the frequency, the format, the language, and the recipients. Test sends the report now. The pencil edits it, and the bin stops it. 3. In Edit Report, change the sensor, the format (normal or simple), the frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly), the language, or the recipients, and click Update Report. The report is not rebuilt; the next one follows the new settings.

How do I get a graph by email on a schedule?

1. Open Graphs and build the graph you want to receive: the sensors, the parameters, the period, and the zones. 2. Click the envelope icon in the toolbar above the chart. 3. Create Mail graph shows what will be sent: the sensors, the parameters, the graph length, and the zones, with the period rolling forward each time. Choose the email language, add the recipients, pick Daily, Weekly, or Monthly, and tick Include AI analysis if you want a written note on the trends. Click Save Mail graph. 4. Saved mail graphs are listed under Reports > Mail Graphs, with the next delivery date. From there you can send a test email, edit the recipients and the frequency, or delete the subscription.

How do I download raw data as CSV?

1. Open Reports > Download Data. 2. Choose One sensor to download up to one year in the browser, or Location (email) to order the full history for a whole location by email. 3. Pick the sensor, the start and end date, and the values you need. Date and time are always included. 4. Click Generate Preview to check the first rows, then download. Emailed exports are split into one file per month and stay listed under Previous exports, so you can download them again.

Where do I find the sensor list?

Open Sensor List. Sensors are grouped by location, and the page states how many sensors and locations you have. Each row shows the latest contact time and the readings that sensor provides, such as temperature, relative humidity, the VTT mould index, CO₂, eTVOC, sound level, and light level. A parameter the sensor does not measure is left blank.

1. Open Sensor List. 2. Type in the search field, or use the problem filter to show only sensors that currently have a problem. 3. On the row, open the quick chart, or copy the sensor ID.

What is the Building List, and how do I read it?

1. Open Building List. 2. It shows every location in your fleet with one figure per location, and sorts them into Outside and OK against the criteria on the right. Choose Latest or the average over 7, 30, or 90 days. Star a location to keep it under Favorites only. 3. Under Criteria, set a minimum and a maximum for a parameter such as relative humidity, or add another criterion. A location is Outside when its figure falls outside those limits. 4. Map shows the same locations as coloured pins. Locations are created and sensors moved under Administration > Sensors; Building List only reads them.

How do I put sensors on a floor plan?

1. Open Administration at the bottom of the side menu, then General > Floor plans. 2. Choose the location in the dropdown and use the upload icon to add a plan as an image (PNG or JPG). 3. Drag a sensor from the Unplaced list onto the plan. Snap lines sensors up with the ones already placed. The pencil renames the plan, and the bin removes it. 4. Open Map / Floor Plan and switch to Floor Plan to see the live readings on the plan. Choose the plan and the parameter at the top. TV opens it for a wall screen in the same way as a dashboard.

How do I rename a sensor, move it to another room, or add a location?

1. Open Administration at the bottom of the side menu. Sensors, maps, and floor plans are under General; thresholds, energy, and mould settings are under Indoor climate. 2. Open Sensors. The counters at the top show how many sensors are active, silent, low on battery, or inactive. Locations are listed on the left; + New adds one. 3. Click a sensor row to change its name or its location. Readings before the move stay with the old location. Scan QR adds a new sensor from the code on the device. 4. Under Maps, drag a sensor or a location name onto the map to place it. Home address centres the map on your address, and the globe switches to satellite view.

What is mould risk, and how does it work?

Open Analyses > Mold Risk. It uses the VTT model. Temperature, relative humidity, and how sensitive the surface is become a mould index from 0 to 6. 0 to 1 means no growth. 1 to 3 is microscopic growth, a warning before you can see it. 3 to 6 means the climate has favoured growth that may be visible, so the surface should be inspected. Filter the table by material. Very sensitive (SQ1) covers untreated softwood, paper, organic insulation, canvas, textiles, and leather. Sensitive (SQ2) covers planed wood, plywood, MDF, paper-faced plasterboard, painted wood, and furniture. Each row shows the index, a status, the trend over seven days, and how often the surface was humid over four weeks. Open Analysis on a row for the index over time.

What is energy optimisation, and how does it work?

Open Analyses > Energy Optimization. It estimates wasted heating or cooling for each location over 7, 30, or 90 days. The estimate uses indoor temperature and the building settings you enter, such as floor area, ceiling height, insulation class, heat source, cooling source, and energy price. It is not a reading from an energy meter, so real consumption can differ. The comfort band follows EN 16798-1 category II unless you change it: about 20–24 °C in the heating season and 23–26 °C in the cooling season. Waste is energy used to heat above the lower limit, or to cool below the upper limit. The page also shows an estimated CO₂ figure for that waste. Open the sensor guide on the page for the standards behind the calculation, or Configure to set the building and the energy source.

What is the DGNB report, and how does it work?

Open Analyses > DGNB Report. It gathers temperature, relative humidity, and CO₂ as evidence for SOC1.1 thermal comfort and the CO₂ categories in EN 16798-1. It does not document the SOC1.2 TVOC knockout. eTVOC can be added as a preliminary check, and it stays off unless you turn it on. The PDF can include statistics, charts with coloured limit bands, floor plans with numbered sensor positions, and the hours measured inside the occupied time you set. Limits come from the DGNB standard, building type, and ventilation type, and you can adjust them before the PDF is made. 1. Choose the standard (DGNB New build 2023, New build 2020, or In-use 2023), the building type, the ventilation type, the dates, and the occupied hours. You can remove public holidays from the calendar. 2. Choose the sensors. 3. Review the limits. The wizard then builds the PDF. Earlier reports stay listed on the page.

What is the EPBD report, and how does it work?

Open Analyses > EPBD Report. EPBD 2024 asks building owners to document indoor climate. This report does that against EN 16798-1:2019, for owners, facility managers, and consultants who need evidence for an energy certificate, a certification scheme, or an authority. The PDF can include a gap check for locations missing a scenario or CO₂ coverage, compliance for temperature, relative humidity, and CO₂, charts, an energy overview, a monthly trend, and suggested improvements. Only occupied hours count. A location needs an EPBD scenario first. The scenario sets a comfort category from I (strictest) to IV (minimum). 1. Choose the location. 2. Check that the zones have temperature, relative humidity, and CO₂, and set the occupied hours. 3. Choose the sections and the recipients. The report is generated in the background and emailed. Finished reports stay on the page.

What is the workplace temperature analysis, and how does it work?

Open Analyses > Workplace heat. It documents room temperature during occupied hours against a workplace or comfort package. It does not replace an accredited occupational-health measurement. Packages cover ASR A3.5 (Germany), Danish guidance at 25 °C, AStV 25 °C (Austria), AV 26 °C (Sweden), Dutch guidance at 26 °C and 28 °C, INRS 30 °C (France), and EN 16798-1 categories II, III, and IV. ASR and the Danish package use indoor temperature and, when you have it, outdoor temperature. The other packages judge indoor temperature only. 1. Choose the package, the period (7 days, 1 month, this summer, last summer, or your own dates), and the outdoor source (automatic, an outdoor sensor, weather data, or indoor only). 2. Set the occupied hours. Only those hours are scored. 3. The PDF lists hours observed, hours over the limit, the peak, a table per room, and a calendar. An AI note at the end is guidance only.

What is the school CO₂ analysis, and how does it work?

Open Analyses > School CO₂. It documents CO₂ while classrooms are in use. Choose Danish school practice, FoHMFS 2014:18 (Sweden), UBA / ASR A3.6 (Germany), EN 16798-1, or Belgian IAQ level A/B. Under the German set, below 1000 ppm is acceptable, 1000–2000 ppm is a warning, and above 2000 ppm is unacceptable. The Danish set treats 1000 ppm as the limit during occupied hours. EN 16798-1 scores classrooms as ppm above outdoor air. Only occupied time is scored, from the raw readings. A gap longer than 20 minutes breaks a run and is not counted as acceptable. 1. Choose the rule and the period (7 days, 1 month, this quarter, this school year, last school year, or your own dates). 2. Set the occupied hours. The default school pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00. 3. The PDF includes minutes observed, minutes over the limit, the peak, a table per room, a calendar of daily peaks, and charts for the worst rooms. The AI note is guidance only.

How do I compare sensors in Graphs?

1. Open Graphs. 2. Choose a period from 1D to 1Y, or step through dates with the arrows. Under Axes & zones, set the parameter on each axis, such as temperature on the left and relative humidity on the right, and choose which parameter draws the green, amber, and red zones. Advanced mode adds absolute humidity and dew point. The toolbar above the chart edits the graph, asks the AI for a summary, expands the chart, saves a PDF, or sets up a mail graph. 3. Click Add sensor in the Sensors panel to overlay up to five sensors on the same chart. Each sensor gets its own colour in the legend. Remove one with the minus. Location Graphs at the top shows a whole location instead of individual sensors.

How do I use the AI Assistant?

1. Open AI Assistant. 2. Type a question in plain language, or start from one of the suggestions, such as which locations had the most deviations last month. Answers are grounded in your organisation's own sensor data and nothing else. Context shows what the assistant can see. Conversations are kept on the left, and Insights collects observations it has made on its own. The answers are guidance, not an accredited assessment. Check them against the raw data before you act on them.

How do I change the material class for mould risk?

1. Open Administration at the bottom of the side menu, then Indoor climate > Mold Risk. 2. Every sensor that measures temperature and humidity is enrolled on SQ2 automatically. Choose the class that matches the most vulnerable surface within 4–5 metres of the sensor: SQ1 very sensitive (untreated softwood, paper, textiles, leather), SQ2 sensitive (planed wood, plywood, MDF, plasterboard, painted wood), SQ3 medium resistant (concrete, brick, plaster, mineral wool), or SQ4 resistant (glass, metal, tiles, glazed ceramics). 3. Drying speed controls how fast the index falls when the room dries out again. Keep Standard unless the structure is massive. Tick Previous mould damage if the surface has had mould before. 4. Click Assign to sensors and choose the sensors these settings apply to. Overview at the top shows the class each sensor follows now, and lets you remove a sensor from the analysis.

How do I set up a building for energy optimisation?

1. Open Administration at the bottom of the side menu, then Indoor climate > Energy configuration. You can also reach it with Configure on the Energy Optimization page. 2. Choose the currency, or let it follow the agreement country. 3. Pick a location on the left and fill in the building physics: floor area, ceiling height, and insulation class. The volume is calculated. 4. Set the heating source, the cooling source, and the heating price. An empty price uses a national average. 5. Adjust the comfort zone for the heating and the cooling season if your building differs from EN 16798-1 category II. A location shows Configured when it is done. What parameters does RoomAlyzer measure for indoor climate?

CO₂ (400–5000 ppm), temperature, relative humidity and, depending on the sensor, VOC (TVOC), particulate matter (PM2.5) and illuminance. All parameters are sampled continuously and reported at intervals you configure.

How accurate are the CO₂ measurements?

Typically ±30 ppm or ±3% of reading, whichever is larger, across the 400–2000 ppm range that matters for classrooms and offices. Sensors self-calibrate against the outdoor background during regular ventilation cycles.

What CO₂ threshold should we use?

EN 16798 Category II defines 800–1200 ppm as acceptable, and most of our school customers set alarms at 1200 ppm. Where Danish BR18 applies, CO₂ must stay below 1000 ppm during occupied hours; check your local building rules for the equivalent limit in your country.

Do we need one sensor per room?

Yes, one per room is the rule of thumb. Very large rooms such as auditoriums and sports halls may need two or three sensors for accurate zone coverage.

The platform generates PDF reports with historical readings, exceedances, actions taken and resulting recovery curves, formatted to attach directly to a Danish APV or equivalent workplace assessment.

Can one sensor have a different scenario from its location?

Yes. Assign a scenario to the location for the common case, then give an individual sensor its own under Administration > Sensors. The sensor's scenario wins.

Absolute humidity is the amount of water in the air in grams per cubic metre, independent of temperature. Dew point is the temperature at which that air would start to condense. Both help you see whether a change in relative humidity comes from ventilation or from heating.

No, not in itself — the levels found in ordinary buildings are far below anything harmful to health. The directive (EU 2024/1275, Article 13) requires building owners to document the indoor climate as part of the building's performance, with EN 16798-1 as the reference standard. How that plays out in practice depends on national implementation, so the specific obligation for your particular buildings should be settled with your consultant or the relevant authority. The directive applies across EU and EEA markets; in the UK, the same requirements are usually met through certification schemes such as BREEAM, DGNB and LEED and through the domestic EPC rules rather than through the directive itself.

Relative humidity is a percentage of what the air can hold at the current temperature — it changes when the temperature changes, even if the amount of water stays the same. It can tell you whether the climate supports mould growth, and how long it has done so. It cannot see whether mould is already sitting behind a cupboard. A high index is a reason for a physical inspection, not a finding of damage.

The sensor measures the air, not the surface, so put it in the occupied zone close to the exposed area rather than squeezing it in behind the cupboard. How accurately does a temperature sensor measure?

It depends on the type. Full+ sensor and Mini+ sensor measure to ±0.1 °C, the Temperature sensor to ±0.25 °C, and the older A-series sensors to ±0.3 °C. Drift is under 0.03 °C a year for the newer sensors, so a sensor stays reliable for many years. That is enough for operational monitoring, but it is not an accredited measurement.

Why does the curve suddenly jump several degrees?

First check whether there is a relocation marker on that day in the chart. If the sensor has been moved to another room, the curve describes two different rooms before and after, and the jump does not belong to the room. If there is no marker, the usual explanations are a window that has been opened, sun on the façade, or a system that has changed its operating mode.

What about the temperature outside working hours?

That is often the most interesting part. A night setback to 16–17 degrees outside occupied hours is common practice, but it only works if the building can get back to comfort in the morning. There is no single answer for every room. An ordinary office under EN 16798-1 category II sits in the green at roughly 22–26 °C in summer, 35–65 %RH and below 800 ppm CO2. Choose for the most sensitive thing the sensor is there to protect. Robust (±10%) suits stone, metal and glass. Medium (±7%) suits canvas and paper. Sensitive (±5%) suits wooden panels, inlaid and polychrome wood, and historical objects. If in doubt, the narrower band is the cautious choice.

What do I do if the status changes to Stress?

Look at the analysis chart to see where the excursions fall. If they coincide with the start of the heating season, with visitor numbers, with airing, or with a change in the weather, that points straight at the cause. The fix is usually to slow the rate of change — heating more gradually, airing for shorter periods more often, or dehumidifying rather than heating.

What does a mould index of 2 mean?

That there is microscopic growth: conditions have been favourable enough for spores to be active, but nothing is visible yet. It is the early warning, and the right moment to do something about the humidity level — not a sign that damage has already been done.

There is no single limit, because it depends on temperature, material and duration. As a guide, sustained relative humidity above 80% is clearly in the risk zone for sensitive materials, while 65–75% over a long period can be enough. No. RoomAlyzer Water registers and raises the alarm — it does not control valves. Automatic shut-off requires a separate installation. What it does give you is a very short time from water contact to message, and that is usually where the biggest share of the damage reduction lies.

Do the sensors need calibration?

CO₂ sensors self-calibrate against outdoor levels; humidity sensors drift about 1% RH per year; temperature sensors are stable for their lifetime. We recommend a factory recalibration every five years for preservation-critical deployments.

What's the typical battery life?

Three to seven years depending on sensor type, reporting interval and ambient temperature. The platform shows a battery gauge for every sensor and predicts replacement dates.

Where can I put the sensors?

How do we get data out of RoomAlyzer?

Two ways. A REST API gives developers and systems programmatic access to live and historical sensor data, and an MCP server lets AI agents query the same data in natural language. How do I authenticate against the API?

Each tenant receives a dedicated API key that scopes access to its own data only; scopes control exactly which data the key can read, and there is no cross-tenant access. The MCP server authenticates with a Bearer key issued the same way.
